About Us

Paul Haynes had entrepreneurial skills back at primary school where he built up a local car washing round which earned him some extra pocket money going from house to house. As a young adult, in 1991 Paul left his job to start his own window cleaning business where he started cleaning windows in Leigham for about £1.25 a house. How times have changed! He expanded into pressure washing and car valeting but after 6 years, soon to be married in 1995, he sold up and pursued a different career.

He was introduced to computing in the mid-nineties through a friend's work computer. Later on, Paul had some formal training through Fear Busters Business Training & Pitman Training where he gained enough knowledge to pursue office work. Then in 1999, he went to Plymouth College full-time for 2 years as a mature student to complete Micro Computing Technology (City & Guilds 2230). Once graduated he pursued The Art College where he completed another 2 years in Multimedia (HND) and topped up by a further year Photo Media Communications (Degree). This formal computer education launched Paul to start his own mobile computer repair business as Mobile PC Doctor.

Paul originally wanted his business to be called Mobile PC Repair but after buying the domain name and printing business cards he found someone else in Plymouth was trading under the name Mobile PC Repairs. So to replace the word "Repair" with the same amount of characters in his design, many other words were explored, He didn't want to use the word "Doctor" as he found it unoriginal. In the end, he settled on the name Mobile PC Doctor and the rest is history!

With Paul's experience gained, it made perfect sense to offer house-to-house computer repairs as a service. Established in 2004, Mobile PC Doctor has gained a superb reputation ever since. Paul even had an advert running on Plymouth Sound radio for 2 years. Remember that? They say "Behind every successful man, there stands a woman" and behind Paul stands his wife, Sigrid Haynes who has supported him throughout all those years of change, education, and career.
